Activity 1

Today you wake up and you are feeling quote tired after all of your sightseeing so you decide to spend the day relaxing in front of the TV. When you turn on the TV you decide to scroll through the channels to see what local television programmes and movies are like in your country. You are amazed! In some cases it is pretty different from what is on TV in New Zealand. To see what is popular in your country, click on the links below and watch the video. In some cases, they will be in different languages!

On your blog provide a short review of the video from your country. In your review please tell us:

1. The name of the television show
2. What you liked about the show
3. What you didn’t like about the show

Finally, at the end of the review, give the video a rating out of 5 stars with 5 stars (*****) being amazing and 1 star (*) being terrible

Activity 2

Most of us like to watch TV when we have the chance. One of my favourite television shows, at the moment, is called Veep. It’s a show about a woman who becomes the President of the United States. It’s pretty funny! I watch Veep on HBO every Monday night.

What is your favourite television show at the moment? On your blog, tell us the name of your favourite television show and tell us, briefly, what it is about.

One of my favourite tv shows is Scream ( I haven't watched it for awhile though ) Scream is a Netflix tv show it's about lots of things Like who is the scream and stuff like that. But I remember in the first season this girl got killed in her pool ( Bella Thorne ) and it just carries on. Also I think the Scream was killing all Emma’s friends because her “Mum” dated her Dad and the mum was the one who got the guy dead so yea.

Bonus Activity

Summer Learning Journey - Day 8

 DAY 8/24th December

Activity 1

What are your favourite things to do in the summer time? For this activity you have two different options: (1) You can take a picture of yourself doing one of your favourite summer time activities and upload it to your blog along with a description of what you’re doing or (2) you can write a paragraph that tells us about what you love doing in the summer on your blog. It is completely up to you!

1. Some of my favourite things to do in the summer is swim wherever or whenever I love to swim it so fun and you can just relax.
2. I also like to go to events and theme parks
3. Spend time with friends/family
4. Shopping and going to malls
5. Camping

Activity 2

Ask someone in your family or one of your friends what their favourite five things are to do in the summer time. On your blog, write the title ‘Summer Activities’ and, below the title, tell us about the five things that they love to do.

DAY 5/21st  December

Activity 1

Think about all of the books that you have read this year and recommend one for Curious Kiwi to read. On your blog list the title and author of the book and then provide a short description of it. What is the book about?    

                                                                                                                                                                     James and the giant peach by Roald  Dahl

I think James and the giant peach is a great book to read especially for those who have great imaginations

So it was about a little boy who lived with his 2 aunts. One day he meet a man and the man gave him small glowing objects. As he was walking back he tripped and all of them escaped. One day he saw a huge peach, suddenly he saw a glow he digged thru it and then he crawled his way in.

Then he saw human sized insects and his journey to new York city began.

Activity 2

Read the following three reviews of books that are really popular right now in Canada. If you had to choose one for Curious Kiwi to read on the plane, which one would you choose? Post the name of the book that you would chose on your blog. Below the title explain why you would choose that book.

Book 1: Catching Fire (The Hunger Games #2) by Suzanne Collins

Book 2: Matilda by Roald Dahl

When Matilda is attacked by the Trunchbull she suddenly discovers she has a remarkable power with which to fight back. It'll take a superhuman genius to give Miss Trunchbull what she deserves and Matilda may be just the one to do it!

Book 3: Diary of a Wimpy Kid – The Ugly Truth

Greg Heffley has always been in a hurry to grow up. But is getting older really all it’s cracked up to be? Greg suddenly finds himself dealing with the pressures of boy-girl parties, increased responsibilities, and even the awkward changes that come with getting older—all without his best friend, Rowley, at his side. Can Greg make it through on his own? Or will he have to face the “ugly truth.”                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Hunger Games

I have chosen this book because I think it would be a very cool and adventurous book and heaps of Kiwi’s like action and a little only a little bit of romance                  (Sometimes not).

1. I looked around the room. Nothing seemed unusual, but then…

2. I knew it was going to be an unusual day when my mom came into my bedroom and said...

3. The spaceship was out of control and only one person could save us....

I looked around the room. Nothing seemed unusual, but then leaped out a hideous creature. I was deeply horrified what it was going to do to me. Suddenly something very strange, very odd happened it changed color.

Suddenly a huge flash appeared I couldn't see anything soon my  vision came back but there was nothing, no sign of that creature I had saw. There was just me standing in a corner scared.
