Cindy in da house

On Monday the 21st of September 2015 the Glenbrae students walked to Pt England to watch a show called Cindy in da house.

When we got there their was 2 other schools the play started it was about a girl she was feed up with doing all the work for her cousins and one day there was a ball and she couldn't go but then she looked into a shopping bag and there it was a beautiful bright white dress she put it on then went to the ball she saw Josh and they danced together it was 12.00 and she ran down the stairs she left a jandel and he said I will find her, the next day he found her and then they became bestie.

At the end they had a cool party for finding Cindy and then everybody lived happily ever after.

Today, Thursday 10-09-2015 the whole of Glenbrae School students, teachers and staff went to the Glenbrae school hall for a Duffy role model assembly and the role model was Myron Simpson.

Myron Simpson is a famous bike rider that has been riding for over 22yrs.  He also has his own Muesli company named Myron's Muesli. He was talking about how he read a lot about people and their lives and he said that Richie Macaws was his favourite one to read about. Myron said it was good to read so you know what to do.

At the end of the assembly some people got to where Myron's gear and then we got to ask some questions about his life and his Muesli bars. After that Myrron gave the Duffy books out to some kids from each class, we went outside and went back to our classes with our hands behind our back and quietly.  

Tests

In weeks 8 ad 9 we had our mid-year assessments in maths writing and reading. I am now working at level 3P in maths, level 3P in writing and level 3P in Reading. My goal for term 3 is to move up 2 sub levels in maths writing reading and maths.

Asthma show

On a very cold Thursday morning The 28th of may 2015 the whole of Glenbrae school

went to a asthma show at Glenbrae school hall to learn how to be safe if you see someone

not breathing well or you not breathing well.

How we respect others

Hi my name is Cherise and I'm going to tell you a little a bit about how you can respect others and yourself.

                                                                                                                          You can respect people by not talking when they're not talking,don't say swearwords,clean up at home,say nice words,helping someone when someone is hurt,picking up rubbish,treating sport gear with care, keep your hands and feet and words to yourself,no fighting in class or at home and finally you should respect yourself and others by also doing your work at school.

You can respect you by helping you get healthy and clean. Also not getting yourself into fights.

My presentation

On Thursday the 8 of May 2014 the whole of Glenbrae school were doing class presentations. I was presenting for my group and we were talking about what you need to take when you go camping. Robin, Maara, Whitney and Levi also presented for their groups.

In the morning we did a little practice then the bell rang to start doing the presentations. First Room 8 came and then the other classes followed. We taught them about what to take when you go camping, Whitney talked about tents and where to put your tent, Levi talked about man made shelters, Robin talked about food to take in the wild and Maara did mapping skills.

When the classes were coming in I was getting excited and happy.

Recount about going to Tamaki College

Today on the 21 of March 2014 Room 7 and Room 9 went to Tamaki College to learn more about sports and we got to meet some people in Tamaki College too.

First Miss T told us to get into groups.Then she called some people up to be with the second group we had Lika, Samuel and Maria. 

Next we went outside and then they said we were going to play a game. The game was called Bang. Someone had to be in the middle and had to call a name if they call a name you had  to duck  and the two people next to you have to try to shoot you if you duck before they get you they have shoot each other and that person who shot last will be out.

Then we played a game called Capture the ball. You just had to get the other team's ball. Finally we raced each other to the end of the field.

I felt happy because there were cool coaches and I am looking forward to the next lesson.
